Located in Chicago Lawn (near 63rd and western), Claremont Naturescape is a K-8 nature playground designed to enliven the community. Previously, there were two empty fields with no space for the students to play, explore, and be outdoors in. With the design natural materials will be used to create a community space that integrates play and nature.
While the naturescape playground was designed with the purpose of providing a safe play area for Claremont Academy students, the park is intended for multi-use community activities. Additionally, the natural elements within the playground serve different types of play and do not limit elements to a specific activity.
This proposed project provides students in Chicago Lawn, a south side community, an interactive space to socialize, play, and learn outdoors.
