Artist-led public engagement campaign – P.A.R.T.Y. (Public Art Reimagining Tour with You) – seeks community input to guide investment priorities by leading an initial series of public input events in Englewood, Bronzeville, Austin, and Auburn Gresham. P.A.R.T.Y. programs are usually conducted in various locations, including schools and community centers, with the goal of reaching as many young people as possible. The program is an important effort to promote safety and well-being among youth, particularly in the context of traffic safety and alcohol-related risks. This initiative was developed by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) with the aim of providing a Public Art Vision Plan for each INVEST South/West neighborhood.
This project engages residents of each Invest SW neighborhood and stakeholders; it aims to document the values, stories, themes, and priorities shared by community members and translate them into permanent public art projects within each neighborhood.
