The project is located in the North Lawndale neighborhood, and its purpose is to serve the community, especially the youth, by creating a safe recreational space. The strategy for the project is to use a pre-existing functioning police station to make a safe multi-use building.
The proposed Polis station would unite the community under the roof of the police station which in recent years has seen controversy and debate in order to create a space in which youth can safely play in the neighborhood.
