The Hatchery is a 67,000 SF culinary business incubator in East Garfield Park. Located next to the Kedzie Green Line stop, the building provides food entrepreneurs with commercial kitchen facilities, coaching, and business development services. The spaces are designed to accommodate future flexibility and adapt to market demands over time. This includes: 54 private, commercial-grade kitchens leasable annually; six shared kitchens available hourly; cold, dry, and freezer storage; loading docks; meeting and co-working spaces; and 10,000 SF of office space for Allies for Community Business (formerly Accion), a nonprofit microlender and joint-venture partner offering coaching, business support, and capital to The Hatchery’s entrepreneurs. The Hatchery’s robust programming includes an 8-week culinary training and internship program by Chicago Chef Rick Bayless, and the site is home to the Garfield Park Community Council’s Neighborhood Market.
